Modern Aesthetics and Wall Paneling Systems

When you hear the phrase “wall paneling systems”, what do you picture? Perhaps your brain flashes back to Mike Brady’s study on the classic TV series “The Brady Bunch”. Maybe you envision a very elaborate dining room from the turn of the century. These are totally inaccurate views of modern wall paneling systems, however, and they are actually extremely appealing to a wide variety of homeowners or apartment dwellers.

First of all, most contemporary wall paneling systems come in a huge number of designs and styles. For example, they might be made of dark oak, Zebrawood, Rosewood, Ebony Macassar, and dozens of other exotics. They can be installed in a range of ways that create a solid or “grounding” feature in a room, or they might be used in a surprising and creative manner too. For instance, one homeowner might use paneling instead of wall art, while another might use a large number of panels in place of a headboard in their bedroom. They can be found as individual squares or tiles, but they might also be large and elegant swaths of timber meant to be hung in groups for the most impressive results.

It is important to remember that wall panels should be made from all-natural wood veneers rather than imitation materials or laminates. This is because they are going to require a bit of durability in addition to delivering really gorgeous looks. They might also have textures, due to their natural grain, that will need a moderate amount of dusting. If the materials are substandard (which is often the case with laminates and imitation materials) they might show signs of wear and tear just from simple cleaning or dusting. Such items might also fade if hung in direct sunlight, which is not the sort of durability one can always expect from natural veneers – which can last for years under many different conditions.
